Associate Provost for Enterprise Resource Planning

Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Jack Blanchard as Associate Provost for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), effective March 21, 2019.

Dr. Blanchard recently completed a five-year term as the Chair of the Department of Psychology in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences and is currently serving as Chair of the Senate Faculty Affairs Committee.

Jack received his B.S in Psychology from Arizona State University, and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. Jack joined the University of Maryland in 1999 as an Assistant Professor and has played many roles during his 20 years at the university. His research is funded by the National Institute of Mental Health and uses brain imaging to examine how emotion, behavior, and social relations interact to influence the development and maintenance of symptoms in psychotic disorders. Jack is past President of the Society for a Science of Clinical Psychology, is a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science and is the Joel and Kim Feller Professor of Psychology, University of Maryland, College Park.

Jack’s responsibilities as Associate Provost will include oversight of the campus ERP Team for the successful implementation of the new Human Capital Management and Student Information systems. He will provide strategic oversight of the design of the comprehensive project and governance structure and communicate project status to executive leadership and the University community.

Vice President and Chief Information Officer Jeff Hollingsworth and I believe that Jack will bring a wealth of experience, skills, and institutional knowledge to this critical new position and are delighted that he has agreed to serve in this capacity. We are confident that he will continue to serve the University with distinction in his new role as Associate Provost. Please join me in welcoming him to this new position.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Rankin, Ph.D.
