Strategic Plan Update 2015-2016
As part of the Flagship 2020 initiative, President Loh charged a Work Group with updating the University's Strategic Plan. With input from the campus community, the Work Group created a document that highlights the major accomplishments among the goals set forth in the 2008 plan, assesses our current strengths and challenges, restates and refines our vision and mission, and identifies the new opportunities in education, research, and innovation in our changing environment.
The update process began with a series of Community Vision Sessions, led by the Center for Leadership and Organizational Change (CLOC). Several key stakeholder groups were also surveyed. The work that CLOC carried out, along with other communications, presentations, and background documents and other archived college strategic plan records, are summarized at the College Strategic Plan Records Webpage.
The document was endorsed by the University Senate on April 7, 2016, and approved by President Loh on April 20, 2016.
Strategic Plan 2008
In 2008, the University of Maryland published Transforming Maryland: Higher Expectations, its new ten-year Strategic Plan. This comprehensive, bold, and action oriented plan has since served the campus as its working agenda. It sets forth a vision of the University as an institution unmatched in its capacity to attract talent, address the most important issues of our time, and produce the leaders of tomorrow.
